Register your organisation in the Business & Brands portal. Once SafeNaija has verified it, create a key under API access. Send it in the x-api-key header. Keep keys on your server, never in a browser or app bundle.

Statuses

VERIFIED | Serial, product and batch match a verified manufacturer’s record |
REGISTERED | Product registered by a verified manufacturer. No serial, so the individual pack isn’t authenticated |
RECALLED | Batch recalled by the manufacturer |
EXPIRED | Batch past its recorded expiry |
DUPLICATE | Serial already verified in another state or many times. Possibly copied |
SUSPICIOUS | GTIN, NAFDAC number, batch or serial doesn’t match, or the serial is revoked |
NOT_FOUND | No manufacturer record on SafeNaija |
Errors
400 invalid body · 401 missing or revoked key · 402 free allowance used and no active plan · 403 organisation not verified · 503 temporarily unavailable.
